A proper English market town done right
Hereford is the kind of place that just feels real. The market on a Saturday is packed with locals selling fresh produce, and the cider here is something else - proper stuff, not the watered-down versions you get elsewhere. High Town is great for a wander.
Great little city for a weekend escape
Really enjoyed exploring Hereford. The Cathedral is stunning and the Mappa Mundi inside is genuinely fascinating - didn't expect to spend as long in there as I did. The food scene along the riverside is good too. Laid-back and easy to get around on foot.
Loved the slow pace and countryside feel
Coming from a busy city, Hereford felt like a proper breath of fresh air. The Black and White House Museum on High Town is worth a look, and the local Hereford beef is absolutely top notch. Everything felt uncrowded and genuinely welcoming.

We used Hereford as a base for exploring the surrounding area and it worked perfectly. The Cathedral quarter is beautiful and the local cider farms nearby are a must. Friendly locals, decent pubs, and the scenery just outside the city is gorgeous.
Solid city break, very underappreciated
Hereford has a lot going for it. The Wye River walk is peaceful and really pretty, and the city centre has a good mix of independent shops and cafes. Tried a proper Herefordshire steak and it was easily one of the best I've had. Calm, easy and enjoyable.
Quiet gem in the English countryside
Spent a few days in Hereford and really liked it. The Cathedral is the obvious highlight but Old House in the city centre is surprisingly cool too. Local cider tasting is a must if you visit - picked up a few bottles to take home. Great value compared to bigger UK cities.
